27th Europe of the Carpathians Conference – Poland
This is the text of my speech delivered at the 27th « Carpathian Europe » conference organised by the Polish Parliament. The event took place on Tuesday 8 September 2020 at the Hotel Golebiewski (Karpacz, Poland).
What Kind of Europe? Whose Europe?
Historical experiences and the resulting common economic and social problems of the Central European countries have led to a growing reference in public discourse to the division of the European Union into a ‘two-speed’ or ‘multi-speed’ Europe. The alternative is the Europe of Homelands, or Europe of Solidary States, as a confederation of European national states. Therefore, the debate about the future takes on a special importance.
